POS Transaction Throughput

What Is POS Transaction Throughput?

The number of point-of-sale transactions a system can process per unit of time, typically measured in transactions per minute or hour during peak operational periods. For tour and attraction operators, high throughput is critical during opening surges, ticketed event check-ins, and busy holiday periods when long queues at the POS can directly reduce guest satisfaction and revenue. Systems with low throughput, due to slow card processing, latency between the POS and booking database, or underpowered hardware, create operational bottlenecks that a well-integrated booking and POS platform is specifically designed to eliminate.
