QR Code Ticketing
QR Code Ticketing: Glossary Term & Definition
QR code ticketing uses a scannable QR code, delivered by email, text, or app, as a guest's ticket for entry instead of a printed pass or physical wristband.
QR codes cut printing costs, speed up entry lines, and reduce fraud because each code can be validated and marked used the instant it's scanned. Operators can encode a QR ticket with the guest's package, timeslot, and add-ons, so front-of-house staff see everything they need in one scan instead of checking multiple systems.
QR ticketing also makes it easy to resend a lost ticket instantly, since the guest's confirmation email already contains a live, scannable code. Most modern admission control systems build QR scanning in as the default entry method.
