Voucher and gift card redemption is the process of accepting a prepaid credit, physical voucher, or digital gift code as payment, in full or in part, for a booking or purchase.

Gift cards and vouchers are a major revenue driver for attractions, especially around holidays, but they only work smoothly if the booking and POS system can validate and apply them without manual workarounds.

A good redemption flow checks the code's balance in real time, applies partial redemptions correctly if the purchase exceeds the card value, and updates the remaining balance instantly so the same card can be used again later. Poor redemption handling, codes that don't validate online, balances that don't update, creates support tickets and frustrated guests at exactly the moment they're trying to spend money with you.
