Booking Platform Migration
Booking Platform Migration | Singenuity Operator Glossary
What Is Booking Platform Migration?
The process of moving an attraction's operating data and live sales from one booking platform to another. A complete migration covers product and inventory setup, pricing and tax rules, forward-dated bookings already on the books, guest and waiver records, gift cards and outstanding vouchers, OTA and reseller connections, payment processing setup, and staff accounts and permissions. It is distinct from onboarding, which is the training and configuration work on the new platform. Migration is specifically about what carries over.
The part operators underestimate is forward-dated inventory. A ski resort switching in October may already have March bookings sold, and those reservations have to arrive on the new system with the correct pricing, waiver status, and payment state intact, or the guest experience breaks at the gate. This is why migrations are typically sequenced rather than flipped: the new platform goes live for new sales first, existing bookings are moved and reconciled, and the old system stays readable until the last pre-migration booking has been redeemed. A well-run migration for a single-location operator generally takes about 30 days, with the operator bookable on the new platform within the first week.
