Add-On Attach Rate
Add-On Attach Rate | Singenuity Operator Glossary
What Is Add-On Attach Rate?
The percentage of bookings that include at least one additional item beyond the base ticket. Add-ons include photos, equipment rentals, meal packages, parking, merchandise, insurance, and upgrades. Attach rate is calculated as bookings containing an add-on divided by total bookings, and it is usually tracked per add-on type as well as in aggregate, since a 60% photo attach rate and a 4% parking attach rate call for very different responses.
Attach rate is the most useful diagnostic an operator has for checkout design, because it isolates a variable that pricing and traffic cannot explain. If the same add-on attaches at 40% when offered at the counter and 8% when offered online, the problem is placement in the booking flow, not guest appetite. Photo capture is the clearest example: operators who sell photos as a native part of the order rather than through a separate kiosk or vendor typically see $5 to $9 in added revenue per guest, which on a 40,000-guest season is a larger number than most operators' entire software spend. Attach rate is also the number that reveals whether a fragmented stack is costing you money, since add-ons living in a separate system rarely appear on the same order.
